The Crayton E. and Ellen Mann Health Center

812-488-2033 - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Access to health services is available to all full-time students at the Crayton E. and Ellen Mann Health Center, located in Sampson Hall next to the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration building. The health center is staffed by three licensed, registered nurses and one board-certified family practice physician. A nurse can be seen on a walk-in basis. The doctor is available by appointment, after an evaluation by a nurse.

Hours for the fall and spring semesters are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The health center is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Summer hours are limited, and the center is usually closed during semester breaks and holidays. Students can receive treatment at the center without charge for most illnesses and minor accidents. In cases of emergency or those that require a specialist, students are referred to other facilities off campus. Since off-campus medical services are not free, all students are recommended to have health insurance. Students should be aware of health care providers covered by their insurance in the Evansville area.

Tips for Family Members

Family Members often ask how they can balance ongoing support with “letting go” as their students begin their college experience. The University of Evansville Office of Counseling Services provides mental health and emotional support to students during their academic careers; family with concerns about their students can contact the Office to report their concerns and request an outreach be provided to the student. The counselors are also happy to assist family members in navigating difficult situations and conversations by providing feedback specific to family concerns. Lastly, there are several resources listed on the University’s Counseling Services webpage under the Wellness Resources tab that may be helpful for families supporting students in college.
